GIMPA hosted the first annual conference of the African Management Development Institutes Network (AMDIN) at the GIMPA Executive Conference Centre, Achimota, Accra, from 28 to 30 April 2025. The theme was “Enhancing Governance and Public Administration in Times of Polycrises Through Collaboration, Policy, Evidence, Technology (AI) and Innovation for Service Delivery”.
The concept note argued that, in the face of transnational challenges, public administration is critical to national resilience and sustained well-being, and that national schools of government and management development institutes have a central part to play in developing public servants.
AMDIN is a professional association for public sector capacity building in Africa. It aims to improve the work of capacity development organisations by facilitating resource sharing and collaboration. At the opening session a keynote speaker urged African governments to build state capacity through long-term planning.
