The Department of Global Health and Sustainability Studies in the School of Public Service and Governance offers the Master of Public Health, MPhil in Public Health, MSc in Health Management and Leadership, and MSc in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management. Its stated mission includes multidisciplinary research, policy engagement and community partnerships that address global health challenges.

GIMPA marked Father’s Day 2026 with a forum at Mamphey Hall on men’s health, identity and modern masculinity. Counselling psychologist Mrs Perfect Elorm Kumah Oduro and Dr Daniel Nortey, Medical Officer at the GIMPA Clinic, discussed sexual health, mental and emotional well-being, nutrition and exercise, and relationships.
GIMPA held a two-day Leadership and Health Resilience Seminar for staff, management, health-sector stakeholders, alumni and students, led by Professor Jill Klein of Melbourne Business School and Melbourne Medical School. Sessions covered resilience in leadership, stress management, learning from mistakes, a growth mindset and mental and emotional well-being.
The GIMPA chapter of the National Association of Public Health Students, in collaboration with the Dr Annang Foundation, offered free health screening to residents of Nungua, Accra. Over 500 people were screened for malaria, hypertension, diabetes, hepatitis B and C and HIV, with breast cancer screening, laboratory, pharmacy and counselling services also provided.
